About

"I find inspiration everywhere in my visual surroundings whether they are rural or urban, past or present, as in a decorative detail from the Art Nouveau period or the linear qualities of Modern architecture. Being able to create wearable objects that may be cherished by the wearer, hold sentiment and personal meaning is an honour and privilege to me."

Fiona Macintyre has been making jewellery and hollowware for over 20 years. She started with Fine Art studies at the University of Guelph and later refined her skills in Jewellery and Metalsmithing at the Ontario College of Art and Design.

Enticed by the transformation of a hard material into softened fluid forms and shapes, she applies the traditional techniques of Silversmithing in her contemporary designs. Her passion and drive to persevere in these time honoured techniques was passed on by an apprenticeship with leading Canadian Silversmith, Lois Etherington Betteridge.

Fiona Macintyre’s studio practice has varied from production jewellery lines, one of a kind exhibition pieces and tailor made custom design. Now she is enthusiastic to share her creations with a wider audience through the online shop!
